Rendlesham Forest UFO Incident is the name given to a series of observations reported unexplained lights and alleged landing of a vessel of unknown origin in Rendlesham Forest , Suffolk , England in late December 1980 . Some ufologists believe that is probably the most famous UFO event that happened in the UK and ranked among the best known UFO events worldwide. Together with the Berwyn Mountains UFO incident , it was compared with the Roswell UFO incident , and is sometimes referred to as British Roswell incident .
